Frequently asked
questions and answers

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about aesthetic and anti-aging treatments, their course, expected results, recovery and recommended frequency. Our goal is to provide you with clear and reliable information before each treatment.

There is no one treatment that suits everyone. The choice depends on the quality of the skin, loss of volume, facial expressions, facial contours, pigmentation, pores and the degree of aging. Therefore, the treatment is preceded by an examination and consultation, and if necessary, a detailed analysis of the skin and face with the Aura device. Based on this, we create an individual therapy plan.

There is no “right time” determined by age. In younger patients, the goal is most often prevention and preservation of skin quality, while later changes that have already occurred are treated — loss of volume, sagging skin, wrinkles, pigmentation, and changes in texture.

It shouldn't. Our goal is not to change personal characteristics, but to preserve and restore natural proportions, skin quality and facial freshness. A good result should look natural, not “done”.

Aging does not occur in just one layer of the face, which is why the best results are often achieved by combining different methods. One treatment may target muscle, another the skin, a third the volume or supporting structures. The plan is made individually.

A photograph can provide some information, but it is not sufficient for a quality medical assessment. To recommend a treatment, it is necessary to examine the face, skin quality, facial expressions, proportions and tissues in person.

Botox

Botulinum toxin temporarily reduces the activity of certain muscles, softening expression lines. It does not fill wrinkles and is not a dermal filler.

Not necessarily. The dose and injection placement are tailored to each patient’s anatomy and facial movements. The aim is a more rested appearance while preserving natural expression.

The effect develops gradually over the following days, and the final result is assessed after approximately two weeks.

The duration is individual and depends on the region, dose, muscle strength and individual response of the body. In most patients, the effect lasts for several months.

In appropriate patients, reducing extremely strong facial expressions can slow down the deepening of facial wrinkles. However, it is not necessary to start treatment just because the patient has reached a certain age.

No. Botulinum toxin acts on muscle activity, while filler primarily compensates or redistributes volume and corrects contours.

Elective aesthetic applications of botulinum toxin are not recommended during pregnancy, and therapy during breastfeeding should be individually discussed with a doctor.

Hyaluronic fillers

No. Fillers can be used to restore lost volume, improve contours and proportions, and correct certain hollows and wrinkles. The goal does not have to be a visible increase in volume.

How long the results last depends on the product, treatment area, amount used, metabolism and the characteristics of the patient’s tissue. There is therefore no single duration that applies to all fillers and all treatment areas.

Migration is possible, but is not an expected result of a properly indicated and properly applied treatment. The choice of preparation, amount, anatomical layer and technique is very important. The FDA lists migration among the possible complications of dermal fillers.

Hyaluronic fillers can be enzymatically degraded with hyaluronidase in certain situations. The decision on this is made after an examination.

Yes. Temporary swelling, redness, sensitivity, and bruising are among the most common reactions after filler application and generally resolve spontaneously.

When administered by a properly trained healthcare professional with the appropriate preparation, the risk is significantly controlled, but no medical procedure is completely risk-free. Rare complications can be serious, including vascular occlusion and tissue or visual damage, which is why knowledge of the anatomy and protocols for complications is essential.

Biorevitalization, skin boosters and collagen stimulation

Filler is primarily used for volume and contour correction. Biorevitalization treatments are more focused on the quality, hydration, elasticity and appearance of the skin, depending on the product.

These are preparations whose goal is to stimulate processes that lead to improved tissue structure and quality. The result therefore generally develops gradually, and not just immediately after application.

No one product is universally “best.” They have different characteristics and indications. The choice depends on whether the main problem is hydration, skin quality, loss of support, the eye area, scars, texture, or other signs of aging.

It depends on the product, indication, initial skin condition and goal of the therapy. Sometimes a single treatment is sufficient, while other treatments are performed in a series according to the protocol.

Some procedures produce improvements relatively quickly, while treatments that rely on regeneration and collagen stimulation take time. Results develop gradually.

Ultraformer, Morpheus8 and other device treatments

Ultraformer uses focused ultrasound energy to treat different depths of tissue and is used to improve facial firmness and contours when indicated.

We view the face as an anatomical whole. Treating just one region in isolation is not always the best way to preserve harmonious proportions and achieve a natural result, which is why our basic facial Ultraformer protocol involves the entire face.

No. Nonsurgical treatments can improve firmness and contour in well-selected patients, but they cannot achieve the results of a surgical lift in every degree of sagging.

Morpheus8 combines microneedling and radiofrequency energy. It is used to improve skin texture, firmness, and certain irregularities, depending on the indication.

Some of the change may be noticeable earlier, but with procedures that stimulate tissue remodeling, the final effect develops over the following weeks and months.

CO₂ laser

Fractional CO₂ laser works in a controlled manner on the skin to initiate the process of renewal and remodeling. It is used for certain wrinkles, scars, enlarged pores, irregular texture, and other indications.

Lutronic eCO₂ 3D allows precise adjustment of parameters and treatment methods according to the region, indication and skin condition. The protocol is determined individually after the examination.

In properly selected patients, the periocular region, including the eyelid skin, can also be treated, with a protocol specifically tailored to this sensitive region.

It depends on the intensity and depth of the treatment. Redness, a feeling of warmth, swelling, peeling and the formation of small scabs may be part of the expected recovery process. We explain the exact expected course before the procedure.

For some indications and patients, a single, more intensive treatment may provide significant improvement. For more pronounced scars, photoaging, or other changes, a series of treatments may be required. The number is determined individually.

Combining treatments

Yes, but the sequence and timing are not the same for every patient. The plan depends on the procedures being combined, the region and the goal of the therapy.

Because facial aging involves multiple structures: skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscles, ligaments, and bone support. A single treatment does not address every aspect of the aging process. A modern approach therefore often involves individually planned combination therapy.

No. An individual plan can be created in stages, according to the patient's priorities, needs, and capabilities.

Before and after treatment

It depends on the procedure. Before treatment, you should inform your doctor about any illnesses, allergies, medications and supplements you are taking, previous cosmetic procedures, and any active infections or skin changes. For fillers, for example, an active infection or skin inflammation may be a reason to postpone the procedure.

It depends on the treatment. After some injection procedures, most patients quickly return to daily activities, while laser and more intensive device treatments may require a recovery period.

Minor swelling and bruising can be expected after injection procedures. During your consultation, you will be given information about the expected course of recovery and symptoms that should prompt you to contact the office.

Unusually severe or increasing pain, vision changes, or a sudden white, gray, or bluish skin discoloration require immediate medical evaluation.

Safety and contraindications

It depends on the medication and the procedure. Be sure to inform your doctor about any medications you are taking before the treatment and do not discontinue your prescribed medications on your own due to the cosmetic procedure.

An active infection in the region being treated is often a reason to postpone the procedure until the condition resolves.

Elective aesthetic treatments are generally postponed during pregnancy. For some procedures and products, there is insufficient data on safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The most important are the correct indication, original and appropriate preparations and devices, medical examination, knowledge of anatomy and performance of the procedure by an adequately trained health professional. The FDA specifically warns about the risks of unapproved or counterfeit botulinum toxins and fillers from unauthorized sources.

What should you not do before and after anti-aging treatments?

If your health permits, it is advisable to avoid anything that may increase your tendency to bruise and bleed for a few days before your injection treatments, such as alcohol, aspirin and other medications that affect blood clotting, as well as certain supplements. Also report high-dose vitamin C supplements and other dietary supplements to your doctor before treatment.

Important: Never discontinue prescribed therapy, including aspirin and other blood-thinning medications, on your own initiative — only on the recommendation of the doctor who prescribed the therapy.

You should not come for treatment if there is an active infection, herpes, severe inflammation or skin damage in the area being treated.

During the period recommended by your doctor, you should avoid direct and intense sun exposure, sunbathing on the beach, solarium, sauna, steam bath, swimming pool and intensive training. After certain treatments, daily high SPF protection is especially important.

The exact recommendations and length of restrictions depend on the type of treatment, which is why each patient receives individual instructions after the procedure.

CAN I HAVE ANTI-AGING TREATMENTS WHILE BREAST-FEEDING?

Yes. Breastfeeding itself is not listed as a general contraindication for performing anti-aging procedures according to the regulations governing the field of aesthetic anti-aging medicine in the Republic of Serbia.

Anti-aging treatments can be performed during breastfeeding, with prior assessment by a doctor and compliance with any restrictions related to the specific preparation, drug or medical device used during the procedure.
